About Feeder Associations of Alberta

The Feeder Association of Alberta has been supporting farmers and feeders throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, providing them with the financial resources and industry guidance to successfully start or grow their operations. We work with government agencies, financial partners, and Local Feeders Associations (LFA) to implement our programs designed to support grain farmers and feeder and breeder operations.

Our organization has been supporting the ag industry for decades. The Feeder Association Loan Guarantee Program was first established in 1936.

Local Feeder Associations Administer the Program

Local Feeder Associations are formed under the Co-operatives Act and Regulations. Currently, there are 45 local associations ready to help you access our financing programs.

The FAA board; your partners in livestock financing

In each feeder association, a Board of Directors approves and monitors contracts with individual members. Each board hires a Supervisor and a Secretary/Treasurer to administer contracts and maintain financial records.

Member Benefits - Here’s help for growing your herd

When you become a member of the Feeder Associations of Alberta through your Local Feeders Association, you receive access to industry connections and resources. You also have access to exclusive benefits to our programs. Individual Members are eligible to obtain up to $3 million and Corporations $3 million worth of livestock (with board approval). Members may also access one of the Livestock Indemnity Trust plans that reduce the extreme financial hardship resulting from animal death loss.
